To finish with that set about the abandoned hospital, 3 selfs!!
I make them with a mask, the inexpressive me and a large place to express the idea of loneliness which is interesting with such an abandoned place.
But this giving me the idea of a more large set!!
Idea to follow!!!
I really don't know what I will publish in the next weeks...
Maybe I will do a little flickr pause to refocus my photographic work...

One of the old wrecks on the severn serving as erosion defense. These mudflats, not so far from slimbridge WWT are a bird feeding ground of international significance, should their tidal nature and water level be affected by the new proposed barrier we could see some species disappear from britian and the lives of hundreds of thousands of birds put at risk in the area, including bewicks swans, numerous ducks.
Plus of course, britains rare and rich wetland habitats (what are we talking here a 90% loss of that particular habitat since the rise of civilisation already?) will become ever more scarce not only for seabirds but for freshwater and inland waders. If its an environmental move to build such hydroelectric schemes then locations should be chosen carefully, The severn is not a suitable place, its environmental genocide for wetland dependant species. It affects the success of ages old migratory routes, populations, breeding viability, diversity, everything.
Muds such as these, are the richest feeding ground waterbirds , and the whole ecosytem they are part of, depend on. It is simply not and never will be worth the cost in wildlife on british soil.
To build the damn thing would be like buying a toyota prius to save the environment when you actually drive 2 miles a day and take a boeing 747 to work a thousand miles everyday. Its like plastering someones head up to cure a nosebleed and suffocating them. Its one of the worst ideas in the long sad history of bad ideas.
This is not an acceptable price to pay for electricity. Not even close. Only a complete moron could think that playing in fractions of energy production in a green manner is worth harming such a massively significant and far reaching part of ecosystem infrastructure. There are plenty of places in england, especially oop north or right on massively industrialised cities where wetland habitats have already been completely destroyed and animals wouldnt go anyway, and theres very little upwater environment to affect, and heavy industry rules. Put such hydro-electric schemes there.
Mudflats are a primary food providing habitat. If they are flooded, or drained or have their tidal rythym altered it destroys a foodsource for millions of birds, from the locals to those that migrate across to russia and beyond.Changing these envirnments will change bird survival success right across europe to asia, one simple cannot destroy the last refuges for migrants that are left in the UK. Its about as environmentally sound as a permant oil spill on a par with the exxon valdese that you can simply never clear up. Once you change the nature of inland tidal patterns, traditional drainage and refilling on a daily basis, thats it, all the microfauna in the mud dies, and everything that depends on it goes too. And in theory the severn is a drainage point for many places we have absolutely no idea what happens when you change the consistancy of the water resistance to other areas, even other rivers that seem unconnected.
We already have a problem with regional flooding basically because dredging hadnt been done properly for years and local councils permitted entire housing and business estates be built on floodplain. Making the severn more predictable and less tidal in its flow does not necessarily mean flooding risks will improve. Might get worse. What could happen to places like tewkesbury, or the estates in gloucester, even longford. We might see less of the severn bore too, which while it might seem that it would reduce flooding, away drainage might be slower, so were sacrificing a short term occassional risk for a longer term larger one. Things might just get backed up higher in the river course and on higher ground.
